The Weekend

So far this weekend has been great! The weather is fantastic, warm and comfortable to be outside. I great change of pace from last weekends geocaching adventure. This afternoon I attended a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese AKA the house of the mouse. The kids had a blast. Sammy went around putting his coins into any game he could find. Will of course couldn't be pulled away from the shoot them up games. Brian and I then went out to dinner and left the kids home with a babysitter. Our date began with a trip to Fleet Farm. Nothing beats a Saturday night walking around Fleet Farm. We then went to Granite City for dinner. There weren't a lot of people there which was a change of pace. Brian loves this place for some reason, I like the wide variety of items on the menu. We had a 3 course meal and were there for a long tme. So great to get out without the little people. Best of all they were in bed, asleep when we got home.

Tomorrow I am taking Will to CSI exhibit at the Minnesota Science Museum. It promises to be good I am hoping it isn't to violent and graphic.

Now that I have 2 followers I plan to keep up with this highly engaging blog. I am sure you're all on the edge of your seat waiting for the next entry. I am curious to see how my class blog is doing. Visit it sometime... mrsament.blogspotter.com

`It seems as if no one read my first blog today. I am so disappointed! I was hoping to have this great fan club hanging on my every word.

Tonight I set up a face book account. This is interesting! I found a lot of friends, I think I have 4 right now. I am excited to spend more time figuring this site out.

The FIRST one!

So this is my first blog. I have always wondered about blogging and if it is for me. I know I have things to write about, the question is will people care to read what I have to write? So, I hope you read my blog and post a comment. It is amazing how far technology has come! Here we go....

I have spent the last three days at the TIES technology conference in Minneapolis. On Sunday I went to a geocaching class. I learned to use the schools GPS units, I call them Big Yellow due to the color. We cached 2 items - one in Loring Park and one in the Sculpture gardens. It was super fun but REALLY REALLY cold. I can see so much potential for my family to do this. It is like one big treaure hunt with a GPS. I can't wait to go with the kids. I guess there are some great hunts in the area. Monday I presented at the TIES conference. I showed people my use of thinkquest.org with my class. The presentation was a success, only 2 people walked out during it. :) There were about 80 people at this workshop and they seemed engaged in what I was talking about. It was fun to show my students work. I am so proud of what they can do! I even made a movie - my first one! I am hoping to get a video camera for Christmas so I can produce even more short feature films.

Tuesday I went back downtown for the final day of the conference. It only took us 1.5 hours to get there due to the snow. I would hate to work downtown, I am so thankful I only live 2 miles from school. My big thing today was setting up a skype account. We called "up north" tonight and the kids were thrilled to see themselves on the screen. If you have a skype account let me know!

So this is my blog at 11:00pm. I am not sure I have blogging ettique or writing about what I am "supposed" to. This was fun to write, I hope you think so and come back to my blog again sometime!
